• I for one am super-antsy to read the cleverly titled Theo Fleury book, Playing With Fire, but did they have to put a picture on the cover that looks like the face I make a few hours after eating food at Nasseau Coliseum?

• Seriously, how tan is Vinny Prospal? It’s mid-October and he still looks like a kid that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would adopt.

• New York Islanders owner Charles Wang says this article from the Long Island Press is hog-wash, but if any of this is partly true, Kansas City here they come?

• Petr Prucha is playing pretty well in Phoenix, while, of course, getting crushed on an almost nightly basis.

• Just a thought, would Dan Cloutier vs. Ray Emery be the best bad-goalie hockey fight of all time?

• Great article by Mike Morreale on NHL.com about what the Columbus Blue Jackets did for the late 19-year-old Ryan Salmon. Class act in Columbus and they’re playing great hockey.
